Jon Verriet

Jon Verriet studied Cultural History at Utrecht University. In 2011, he wrote his master’s thesis on the history of ready-made meals in the Netherlands, with a focus on the influence of cultural attitudes. He has published an article on this specific type of convenience food, as well as articles dealing with the rising need for convenience foods in general and the Western presentation of 'foreign' cuisines. At the moment he is responsible for a project on the history of yogurt in Belgium, commissioned by Danone Institute Brussels. His supervisor at the VUB is Prof. dr. Peter Scholliers.
