Bio

Linda Dewolf has a scientific background in nuclear physics and oncology, she graduated in interpreting in 1984, obtained a master degree in cultural studies (film studies) at the VUB, she specialised in literary translation (ISTI 1989-91) and in terminology (ISTI 1995) and achieved a PhD in Linguistics (VUB 1998).

Research interests

  • literary translation (Australian short stories)
  • audiovisual translation: subtitling, dubbing and surtitling opera and drama (puppet theatre)
  • terminology (electronic payment systems, medical radiology, road traffic safety)
  • cross cultural adaptation/translations of patient reported outcomes (quality of life - psycho-oncology).
